The video shows a car being struck by equipment at roadworks in Newtownabbey
Phoenix Energy have released a statement after a video went viral on social media showing a car being "damaged by equipment" at a construction project.
In a statement to Belfast Live, a spokesperson said they are aware of the incident and are now carrying out an "urgent investigation." They said those in the car were "understandably shaken" but not injured.A spokesperson for Phoenix Energy said: "We are aware of an incident which occurred whereby a car passing a Phoenix Energy construction project on the Shore Road on Tuesday 12th March was damaged by a piece of rubber testing equipment.
"We are now carrying out an urgent investigation with our contractor and the manufacturer of the equipment to understand the full context of this incident. The Health and Safety Executive NI has been informed of this incident by Phoenix and as always we will fully co operate with all relevant authorities."
Phoenix Energy are currently carrying out essential reinforcement of their network on the A2 Shore Road, which is currently taking place from the M2 flyover to Loughside Park.
