Sophia Bordi of Haddon Heights during the softball Tournament of Champions semifinal between Donovan Catholic and Haddon Heights at Whitty Athletic Complex in Toms River, NJ on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.State Softball Player of the Year Sophia Bordi suffered a shoulder injury during pre-game warmups last week and is likely out for the season, Haddon Heights coach Michelle Hastings confirmed.
While she wasn’t able to pitch, Bordi was able to play outfield and hit and was having her best offensive season. She was 20-for-37 for a .541 batting average with an incredible 17 walks. Eleven of her hits had gone for extra bases, including four home runs, while she scored 16 runs and knocked in 24.
