Robert Ortt, the new leader of the Senate Republican conference, says he plans to be an aggressive presence at a state Capitol where Democrats now control all the levers of power.
“We need to be out there loudly, succinctly and appropriately outlining our opposition to many of these proposals and explaining to people why this is bad for people’s pocketbooks, families and communities,” Mr. Ortt, a 41-year-old from Niagara County, said in an interview last week. “And they deserve balance.”
