According to the union, workers walked off the job at more than 100 Starbucks locations on Thursday, joining the job action dubbed the “Red Cup Rebellion.” “There has been a lack of respect by management for the partners,” said Niah Baker, a shift supervisor at the Montclair Starbucks. “Especially with the staffing levels we have, it gets really difficult. I shouldn’t have baristas getting burned out making a cup of coffee.”Starbucks operates more than 15,000 outlets nationwide. Starbucks Workers United represents nearly 7,000 employees at 250 locations, according to the union.
