Worf has also recruited B’Elanna Torres, a former Maquis operative, to his cause. She assists him in recruiting Laren, but after they take leave of her, she confesses other Maquis did not see her as a “true believer” and they saw her as a “Starfleet spy.” Worf counters Torres, saying that Laren’s lengthy criminal record says otherwise.
The character made several appearances in the show’s last few seasons ,and her arc seemingly came to an end in the seventh season episode “Preemptive Strike,” in which she betrayed Starfleet to fight for the Maquis–a group of freedom fighters waging a guerilla war against the same Cardassians who once oppressed Bajor. Ro’s fate was never revealed on-screen–but now she has found herself caught up in the god war, with no one apparently to turn to.
