Police had surrounded the home for nearly ten hours and neighbors were evacuated from the surrounding area.
Police cleared the scene at 8:40 p.m., nearly 10 hours after the man’s girlfriend fled the house on the 1500 block of Briggs Street following a domestic incident, according to Harrisburg city spokesperson Matt Maisel.Police cleared the scene of a standoff in Harrisburg after a raid of the house revealed a man believed to be holed up inside was not there Saturday night.
The man and woman, who is 30, lived at the home together, Maisel said, but city police did not release their names. For the entirety of the stakeout, police believed the man was armed.
