Stacey Dooley has welcomed her first child with boyfriend Kevin Clifton and given her an adorable name.
The 35 year old TV presenter shared the happy news of her little one's arrival as she posted a sweet snap of a card addressed to "Minnie's parents" on Instagram."I'm COMPLETELY OBSESSED. Love you Minnie, Love you Kev x."Minnie was wildly popular at the turn of the last century. It was the fifth or sixth most popular name throughout the 1880s but has lost its popularity in the modern day, perhaps due to its association with the Disney character, Minnie Mouse.
However, it's possible that the up and coming trend toward old-fashioned nickname-names may give the name a revival. Minnie was traditionally a nickname for Mary, but it can also be a diminutive of Minerva, Wilhelmina, Clementine, Hermione, or Amelia - the birth name of actress Minnie Driver.Stacey announced her pregnancy in August 2022, sharing a polaroid snap to Instagram. The sweet picture showed her wearing a loose black top pulled up to show off her blossoming bump, which she cradled with her hands.
She captioned the snap: "Gaaaaaaang..... We are having a baby! So bloody delighted. Kev, you're magic, I love youuuu.Boyfriend Kevin was clearly as excited, as he commented: "Love you," and he made sure to share his own announcement to his Instagram page as he gushed over his "beautiful" girlfriend."And I think my girl @sjdooley looks beautiful pregnant."
