The board approved calendar Option A, which shows students beginning classes Aug. 10, 2023, and finishing the school year on May 31, 2024., the district sent out a calendar survey to the community and staff to vote on one of two options. More than 7,500 people voted this year, which the district said is a 146% increase in participation from last year. Both options were similar but had different start and end dates and a new weeklong district fall break.
Option A also allows winter break to begin starting with a half-day for students on Dec. 15, and classes will resume Jan. 4. Spring break will start on March 11, and students will return March 18.Spring ISD will have two additional early release days next school year for high schoolers on Dec. 14 and May. 30 to support final exams, the release states. The schedule will allow off days for students Nov. 6-7 and Feb.15-16 for teacher professional development and parent conferences.
