The Saskatoon Hilltops well-balanced offence helped them put an end to a rare three-game losing streak when the Toppers defeated the host Calgary Colts 35-17 on Sunday afternoon. Noah Flaman had two touchdown receptions, Dillan Heintz added his own, and Boston Davidsen scored on a TD run. It was Sydney Arnold who gave the Winnipeg Wesmen the lead just six minutes into Saturday’s match, but Alyssa D’Agnone tied it for the Huskies just three minutes later. In hockey action, the Huskies dropped a pair of pre-season men’s exhibition hockey games in Calgary, losing 5-2 to the Dinos on Friday and 3-2 on Saturday. In women’s exhibition hockey the host Huskies lost 3-1 to the Mount Royal Cougars on Friday before bouncing back with a 1-0 win at home over the Alberta Pandas on Saturday. In women’s volleyball pre-season action it was the Huskies losing 3-1 to UBC on Friday, 3-0 to Mount Royal on Saturday and 3-1 to Calgary on Sunday.
