After a trying 2022 season, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers sheared his mullet and shaved his face. He's not a new person, just an exceptional talent who's ready to start with a clean slate.

“So all of a sudden now, the guy gets a haircut and he cleans his beard up a little bit, and everyone thinks Quinn is real serious right now,” Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said in March. “But that’s human nature, right? I give him a lot of credit for recognizing what he needs to do from a developmental standpoint, but it’s never been a question of ... him taking this serious.
After beating out veteran Hudson Card for the staring job, the then-19-year-old cruised in a 52-10 season-opening win over Louisiana-Monroe and was rolling against No. 1 Alabama in Week 2 before suffering a sternoclavicular injury at the end of the first quarter that kept him sidelined for three weeks.
That’s been a major point of emphasis this offseason. And to that end, Ewers looks much improved. It helps that his best out route threat, junior Xavier Worthy, has recovered from a broken hand that impacted their connection during the second half of the season.
