Jack Skellington and Maleficent helped to launch the Halloween fun
Spooky shenanigans at a Nottingham tram stop halted passers-by in their tracks when Jack Skellington, from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Maleficent came to town. The ghoulish duo descended up the Forest tram stop, or rather the Frightful Forest, for some spine-tingling Halloween fun.
Nottingham tram stops have been bewitched, and in a fiendish display of trickery, passengers won’t find their usual tram stop names. Instead, the likes of Old Market Square, Nottingham High School and and Lace Market have become the victims of a sinful prank. Whether heading to the Nottingham High Ghoul, NG Boo, Old Market Scare, or Hyson Scream stops, tram users will certainly spot something eerie along the tram network this month.Andrew Conroy, chief operating officer at Tramlink Nottingham, said: "We have done this for a couple of years now. This year is bigger than we've done it before. We have 30 tram stops around the network which we have changed their names to reflect the Halloween season. My favourite is Wolford Village, in Wilford.
"What we'd like people to do is go out and find these tram stops, get a selfie and share on their social feeds and tag us #tramortreat and there's a chance to win a prize of free tram tickets. We're doing it to try and put a bit of a smile on people's faces at the moment and give people something to look out for when they're travelling around the network and just have a bit of fun.
