Sperm donor who fathered 15 children without mentioning rare genetic condition named by judge
James MacDougall, 37, suffers from Fragile X syndrome, a hereditary disease associated with low IQ and mental development.
Mr MacDougall signed an agreement with the mothers, saying he did not want contact with his children once they were born.Three mothers opposed his bid and the case was heard by Mrs Justice Lieven, who denied Mr MacDougall parental responsibility. Justice Lieven commented: "The usual approach of anonymity in the Family Courts should not be used as a way for parents to behave in an unacceptable manner and then hide behind the cloak of anonymity."
