Southern California Olympians are taking to social media to give a behind-the-scenes look at what the Paris Olympics are really like.
People pose for pictures in front of the Eiffel Tower with the Olympic rings prior to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in Paris on Thursday, July 18, 2024. In addition to the athletes who will participate in the parade, 3,000 dancers, artists and other athletes will be featured in the opening and closing ceremonies. Opening Ceremony on July 26, many have already gotten a peek of this year’s event through TikTok, where athletes have been providing an inside look at the games.
While most of this year’s athletes are in Paris for the summer games, Olympic surfers are competing in Teahupo’o, a village in Tahiti. Many surfers are staying on the first ever “floating village” aka a cruise ship. However, not all of the countries competing are staying at sea: Team USA is one of the teams retning a home on land instead. Team USA has, two men and three women, a couple who call San Clemente home – all who have the potential to take gold.
