Sophie Ellis-Bextor is overcome with emotion as she finishes 24hr danceathon
'I'm actually feeling really good and in the last few hours, I've actually had in my head all the faces of all the people I've met and all the projects I've visited. When I was going around all the projects I didn't really know what impact it would have on me so I just think, I cannot complain... Because the money that this is raising is going to people who really need it, and I'm just dancing. So I'm here for it.
The star – who started dancing at 09:26am on Tuesday – was also hailed a hero by fans on social media for her incredible dedication to her Danceathon. She was then joined by her family – musician husband Richard Jones and their children, Sonny, 17, Kit, 12, Ray, eight, Jesse, five, and two-year-old Mickey – on stage as she completed the challenge and was finally able to sit down.
