The first call was at 9:26 p.m. on July 4 and only lasted 34 seconds.

Her mother had a request for 911 dispatch and law enforcement when going to help her daughter, who was dealing with mental health.“Okay, well, they just do their job," dispatch replied. On July 5 just before 2 p.m., a Sangamon County Sheriff's Deputy helped make sure Massey went to St John's hospital for assistance.
Law enforcement arrived once more at Massey's home on July 6th at 12:50 a.m. after she called concerned about a prowler outside.
