Almost all flights were running on schedule Wednesday morning and passengers got through security pretty quickly.
Cars drop off people Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022 at the San Antonio International Airport. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is traditionally the busiest travel day of the year though wait times at the TSA checkpoint through most of the morning were less than 10 minutes according to display screens at the airport.
And this year is extra special. The family is also celebrating Sandra’s father’s 75th birthday, so instead of spending time together in El Paso as they used to during the long Thanksgiving weekend, they decided to head to Las Vegas. AAA Texas projects that 4 million Texans will travel 50 miles or more from home Wednesday through Sunday — about 95 percent of pre-pandemic levels.
