CHI St. Luke's Health has shut down some electronic systems and rescheduled patient appointments following an IT security incident at its parent company, CommonSpirit.Some appointments have been rescheduled at CHI St. Luke's Health in Houston following an IT security incident affecting its parent company, CommonSpirit Health, the hospital system said.
The security incident, the details of which have not been released, prompted CommonSpirit facilities throughout the country to take precautions. "As a precautionary step we have taken certain IT systems offline, which may include electronic health record systems and other systems," said St. Luke's Health spokesperson Scott Packard."Our facilities are following existing protocols for system outages and taking steps to minimize the disruption. We take our responsibility to ensure the privacy of our patients and IT security very seriously. As a result of this incident, we have rescheduled some patient appointments.
