In the tradition of so many pregnant people before her, Sofia Richie Grainge has left the house in a pair of flip flops and an elasticated smock dress. Priced at just £380, that puff-sleeved Solid & Striped frock is perhaps the most “affordable” garment that Richie Grainge has worn in the past 12 months. This is, after all, a blue-blooded Bel Air princess whose fame was fired in the coals of an estimated £3.2 million wedding in the south of France.
I should imagine there comes a point in someone’s third trimester when this kind of thinking becomes unavoidable. Particularly when the spectacle of being pregnant and famous – starting with the obligatory photoshoot announcement and the obligatory black-and-white photo of minuscule hands on Instagram nine months later – is an additional and often unwelcome load to bear. It wasn’t long ago that this Hollywood scion said she had planned to avoid dressing in traditional maternity wear altogether.
