Trick-or-treaters should wear coats, gloves and hats with their costumes tomorrow as Chicago heads into what’s expected to be one of its top 10 coldest Halloweens.
Trick-or-treaters should incorporate coats, gloves and hats with their costumes Tuesday as Chicago heads into what is expected to be one of its top 10 coldest Halloweens, according to meteorologist Jake Petr. Periods of snow showers will start mainly after 11 a.m. Tuesday, with new snow accumulation of less than half an inch possible, according to the National Weather Service in Romeoville. If it snows Tuesday, it would be the ninth Halloween with snow recorded in Chicago and eighth in Rockford.
A typical temperature range is a high of 56 degrees, and a low of 41, according to the weather service. “There may be some lingering snow showers during the late afternoon, early evening and that combined with temperatures in the 30s, it’s going to be pretty chilly out there,” Petr said. “So certainly recommend that if you’re still planning to go out, to be sure to bundle up.” Petr called this time of the year “transition season,” meaning there’s wider temperature swings.
