In the wake of President Trump's social posts following the death of George Floyd, Snap decided to restrict his account on their platform. CEO Evan Spiegel says it does not violate the First Amendment to do so.
Snap CEO Evan Spiegel said the company is well within its rights to restrict the accounts it promotes on Snapchat's Discover platform.
Snap faced backlash after it stopped promoting President Trump's Snapchat account on its Discover feature. "We've always said Discover is a closed platform, and we choose the types of content we want to promote on our platform. "There seems to be some confusion about the First Amendment and who that applies to," Spiegel said. "The First Amendment is very specific.
