According to the city of Athens, a snake made its way into the Athens Primary Substation on Elkton, disrupting power for customers in West Limestone, Clements and parts of Tanner and Athens. The incident occurred around 9 a.m. Thursday and people were reporting service was restored around 10 a.m.On July 5, service was knocked out for about 19,000 Marshall DeKalb Electric Cooperative customers in and around Boaz.
