The lifelong Man Utd fan has made some key decisions and delegated well to revamp OGC Nice over the summer, and it looks to be paying off.
As Sir Jim Ratcliffe prepares to take a 25 per cent stake in Manchester United, fans will be eager to learn of his tenure at OGC Nice.
A defeat to a third-tier side in the cup was enough for the 70-year-old to show the former fans' favourite the door as Didier Digard was appointed as caretaker for the remainder of the season, which ended in fan boycotts and a player backlash. Brailsford helped in the search for a new Nice manager this summer and had ring-fenced Graham Potter, who had also been linked with Lyon. Needless to say, he has not taken up either opportunity.
INEOS sporting CEO Rivere had arrived from PSG last season with a fantastic reputation behind him. Ratcliffe may well be criticised for last term’s unravelling but he at least has delegated well in the aftermath.
