The site will be used for a three-storey apartment block
The first bricks have been laid as the building of an apartment block at a former Nottingham college site reaches a 'significant milestone'. Work is currently underway to redevelop the old Nottingham College campus in Farnborough Road, Clifton.
A three-storey building, which will contain 50 apartments for people aged 55 and over, is now being built on the land. The Nottingham Community Housing Association properties will be a mix of one and two-bed apartments.Whilst the homes are self-contained, the scheme includes shared facilities, such as lounges, a kitchen and gardens.
Councillor Jay Hayes, Nottingham City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing, added: “The council welcomes this new affordable development for older people in Clifton. New homes of all types and tenures contribute towards local people being able to live in safe, warm and affordable homes, built to a high standard, in vibrant local neighbourhoods where everyone has a chance to thrive.”
