The Scotland hero saw stories from his playing career met by a hostile reception at the Hydro last Friday.
Open goal host Si Ferry revealed Robert Snodgrass is "devastated" after he was met with boos during the popular podcast's live show at the Hydro.
During the event Ferry tried to calm the crowd and allow the former Hearts and West Ham star to finish his stories - but that didn't stop clips from the nightmare appearance on stage circulating on social media. Since then, Snodgrass has deleted his X account following a backlash from fans. And now speaking on the Open Goal podcast, the team mounted a defence of the 36-year-old. Ferguson said: "Maybe he was a wee bit taken aback with the crowd.
"He went out there with a story that was very a funny story when he told us it. What he tried to do was get everyone involved and he ended up losing himself.
