An exclusive red carpet screening is taking place at Nottingham's Broadway Cinema tonight
The writer and cast of popular BBC crime drama Sherwood are "hopeful" for the story to develop further as the second series is about to make its debut. A star-studded screening takes place at the Broadway Cinema in Nottingham tonight, giving a handful of lucky viewers a sneak peek at the first episode of the second series of the show.
Ahead of the red carpet premiere, James told Nottinghamshire Live: "It feels like, from the first series, the lens is getting wider on the community and we're going out to brand new places with brand new people. The truth is we don't really know yet, but I'm still really hopeful that the show will continue after this series.
James added: "The show is about how the past is in dialogue with the present. It's about the legacy of industry. It's about community. But the new series goes to brand new places, characters and storylines and the environments are very different. Fans of the show can expect many twists and turns from the new series, Monica Dolan, who plays Ann Branson, told Nottinghamshire Live. She said: "There's every social strata there and the stories are so tight.
