Footage has surfaced online of a young dog on her shelter's equivalent of death row giving a distressing reaction to her kennel door being opened.The video was posted three days ago to TikTok by The Foster Adopt Rescue Network, a channel dedicated to shining a light on euthanasia-listed animals across the U.S. In the clip, a 1-year-old terrier and American pit-bull mix can be seen clawing at her cage, excited to see her new visitor. That quickly changes, though.
However, things take a sinister turn, the minute her kennel door is opened. In a distressing development, the dog is seen cowering in the corner, fearful of the person coming into her space.She relaxes only once they offer a treat and she realizes they are a friend rather than foe. The animal advocate behind The FAR Network said that the dog may have been the victim of abuse given the way she reacted.'I've seen many dogs that act that way that were beaten,' the advocate said.
