The Shelby County Judicial Commission is accepting nominations to fill a vacancy in the Office of Circuit Judge, Place 1, 18th Judicial Circuit.The commission will meet to certify and announce the list of people whose names have been submitted to the commission that day. Nominations must be submitted in writing to Judge Bill Bostick, chairman of the commission.
Each nominee will be required to sign an authorization allowing the commission to obtain information from all sources including federal, state or local government agencies. Then, on June 22, the commission will select three applicants who meet the criteria. Those three names will be submitted to Gov. Kay Ivey, who will have 90 days to appoint someone to fill the vacancy left by Judge Corey Moore, who retired.
