The supporters were arrested for alleged affray and drunk and disorderly offences
Seven Rangers supporters were arrested in Liverpool after yesterday's Champions League fixture at Anfield.
Merseyside Police confirmed that the Gers fans, who had travelled to England for the first competitive clash between the two sides, were cuffed for alleged affray and drunk and disorderly offences. Those arrested by cops following the bout remain in custody in Liverpool this morning, reports the Daily Record.
Superintendent Dawn McNally, of Merseyside Police, previously said there would be "a large number of officers on duty" on the day of the game to cope with any potential policing issues.Sign up to Glasgow Live's newsletter Get all the latest Glasgow news and headlines sent straight to your inbox twice a day by signing up to our free newsletter.
