Desire Hughes was in her father's vehicle when she was killed, according to reports.
the girl’s father Jeremiah Hughes, 20, tells police he was at an intersection at about 8 p.m. Wednesday when another car pulled up. The occupants of the other car opened fire, grazing Hughes but hitting Desire in the chest, police say.
Desire was taken to a hospital but died of her wounds. No arrests have been made, but police are hoping residents can lead them to the suspects.“It’s not fair,” Kapszukiewicz said. “Whether it’s the 10-year-old back in February or the 7-month-old last night, that a young person loses her life because of the bad decisions made by the grownups in her life.”
