Red Bull 's Sergio Perez had a nightmare start to the Mexican Grand Prix race as he crashed out at turn 1 after a collision with Charles Leclerc .
After Verstappen, who started in third, got in between Leclerc and Sainz, Perez saw an opportunity to go round the outside on their left. Perez made it back to the pits but his Red Bull was damaged in the accident, leaving his race in tatters."I had a tremendous start, the gap was there... I would be really disappointed to be on the podium today knowing that I had the chance to be in the lead and not taken it," he told Sky Sports.
"I think simply there was no room for three cars, it was a race incident. In hindsight I should've... I shouldn't say it but I should back off and go home."
