Senate Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday said the Republican-controlled Senate will approve a coronavirus aid bill passed by the Democratic House as soon as possible and then immediately begin work on a second aid package.
The Kentucky Republican vowed the Senate won't leave until the second bill is passed, saying the party will work with Democrats to see what they"can agree to." Asked if Republicans would balk at huge economic bailout, McConnell said,"This is not an ordinary situation, so it requires extraordinary measures."
