He was later forced to apologise
A Sky News interview live from the House of Commons was interrupted by a security guard yesterday, after a group of protestors staged a sit-in. The overzealous security guard had not realised that the interview was a genuine news interview, thinking that it was people filming the protest.
Shortly after the activists had appeared, a Commons security officer - identified by a tag that said "SECURITY" and an epaulette with "security officer" written on it - approached the interview and put his hand over the camera. Mr Craig then ushered the security guard away, adding: "We're midway through an interview, excuse me."Rebecca Pow, MP for Taunton Deane, then had to regain her composure to continue answering the question following the interruption.
It has been reported that more than 30 Greenpeace protestors were a part of the sit-in protest yesterday, which happened shortly after Rishi Sunak was announced as new leader of the Conservatives. The activists occupied the central lobby of Parliament, after calling on Mr Sunak to back a windfall tax on fossil fuels.
