BOGOTÁ (AP) — Los padres de Luis Diaz, destacado futbolista del Liverpool y de la selección de Colombia, fueron secuestrados el sábado en la zona del Caribe de este país, cuando se trasladaban en su vehículo, informaron autoridades.
La madre del deportista fue rescatada horas después, pero el progenitor de Díaz permanece en manos de los secuestradores, confirmaron el presidente Gustavo Petro y la policía colombiana. “Ha sido rescatada la mamá de Luis Díaz, seguimos en la búsqueda del padre”, informó Petro mediante su cuenta de la red social X, antes Twitter.
El director de la policía de Colombia, general William Salamanca, mantuvo un contacto telefónico con Marulanda, a quien expresó estar complacido por haber conseguido su libertad, al tiempo que pidió insistir en la búsqueda del padre. En un video difundido en la misma red, Salamanca indicó que se ha trasladado hacia la Guajira con “toda la capacidad institucional” policial para coordinar el operativo que permita el “rescate” del padre de Díaz.
