A second man has been charged over the alleged "kidnap and torture" of a man who later died from his injuries. Alan Lawson, 36, passed away in hospital on Tuesday, February 6, two days after being discovered injured outside his home in Saltcoats, Ayrshire.
He is due to appear in court on Wednesday, February 28. Ayrshire locals were left horrified after an individual shared footage claiming to show Alan on the floor of a blood-splattered room on Snapchat in the days after his death. A huge police presence was seen in the area during a two-week manhunt. Officers were seen outside Lawson’s home on New England Road in Saltcoats and at a property on Alexander Avenue in nearby Largs.
Others told how they were afraid in their own communities while they waited for cops to make an arrest. One local said: “I could pass someone involved in this in the street right now and not even know.” Cops clothed in black were spotted surrounding a property before later leaving the scene. An eyewitness said: “This is the biggest police operation I’ve ever seen. There’s a load of cops in uniform and even more in plain clothes.
