Strauss picked the spot to highlight the expansion of ‘streeteries’ in his neighborhood during the pandemic, and his focus on the economic vitality of his longtime neighborhood. The city’s Mayor Bruce Harrell has suggested there will be a more than $200 million shortfall in 2025, based on a need to increase city worker wages.
