Search continues for missing Utqiagvik man after his raft overturns in the Chulitna River near Cantwell.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - John George, a seventy-year old respected scientist from Utqiagvik has been missing since Wednesday, July 5 when the raft he was on overturned in the Chulitna River near Cantwell, according to Alaska State Troopers .

AST was notified about the incident at about 1 p.m. Wednesday. In response troopers sent units to mile 182 of the Parks Highway to provide ground assistance while Helo unit 2 from Fairbanks rescued four of the five rafters.
