National championship dreams die hard. That was the case for the Point Loma Nazarene men’s basketball team Monday night at Golden Gymnasium.
Anderson got the ankle taped up and gave his best, finishing with 27 points and four rebounds in 31 minutes minutes while limping noticeably throughout, but the Sea Lions struggled to keep up with the fast-paced Coyotes and absorbed an 89-83 loss in front of a packed house.“I just wanted to do whatever I could,” Anderson said. “I wasn’t going to leave that game.”
Tobin Karlberg , Jake Lifgren , Shamrock Campbell and Brian Goracke had strong games for the Sea Lions , who went undefeated in the PacWest regular season and won the conference tournament last weekend in Hawaii. However, Anderson was obviously limited in movement and that hurt on a night when the uber-athletic Coyotes moved the ball well and ran at every chance .
