If this number holds, this would be the highest opening for a‘s premiere in 2000, which earned $34.7 million at its domestic debut. The report goes on to mention that Jenna Ortega’s star power is likely a reason for the larger projection, but the previous success of 2022’s Scream is also a huge marker. That film opened to $30 million during its debut, which was a surprise considering the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic at the time. In total,Scream VIreturn, with Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett stepping back into the franchise after the success of the fifth film.
