A group of volunteers in Scotland have apologised after their Halloween decorations, including zombie-themed displays, caused offence to a visitor at a nearby cemetery. The community gardening team had prepared the spooky display for a Halloween scavenger hunt, but it upset some locals who had loved ones buried in the cemetery. The group quickly removed the decorations and apologised for any upset caused.
A group of Scots volunteers have apologised after zombie Halloween decorations at their HQ caused offence to a cemetery visitor.
But just days after creating the display, the group received a complaint that the decorations were upsetting locals who had family and friends buried in nearby Dalkeith Cemetery. But members of the community were quick to come to the defence of the volunteers who regularly give up their time to maintain gardens in the community and hit back at the complaint.
Another social media user said: “Such a shame people have complained. My mum and grandad are buried here and they would find this funny not disrespectful. They would love it.”
