Tyler Ellis, 27, subjected the woman to a horrific ordeal, telling her: “I’ve decided I’m going to kill you.”
A thug who threatened to murder his girlfriend at knifepoint after pinning her to a bed has escaped a prison term.
Ellis, 27, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court from custody on Tuesday after sentencing was deferred for reports. Sheriff Ian Anderson said he was content to find an alternative to custody in a bid to allow Ellis to tackle his problems. At the previous hearing, fiscal depute Jennifer McLaren said the victim had returned to her Edinburgh home after a night-out with pals at around 4am.
