Ellis Reid and partner Douglas Horn have been left fuming at the response from authorities.
A mum was left furious after the garden at her newbuild home turned into a swamp - and her young son and dogs got the blame. Ellis Reid, 32, moved into the social house in Dundonald, Ayrshire, August 2022 with her five-year-old son, Landon, and partner Douglas Horn, 43.
"Now I just shut the curtains. I’m sick of the sight of it. It’s like having a swamp attached to your house. There is algae growing up the fence and on plant pots. We can’t let the dogs out any more – they just refuse to go out in it. A furious Douglas claimed that Riverside Housing, who own the property, sent out a sub-contractor who pinned the blame on Ellis' son and the couple's two dogs - despite a previous contractor agreeing with the family that it is a drainage issue.
Top news stories today “When they came out the second time they were only here for a couple of minutes, later that night I was sent an email to say the state of the garden was because of our two dogs and my partner’s four-year-old son.
