A Scotland star has revealed the reason behind his famous trademark celebration with a nod to a family member cited..
Former St Mirren star, John McGinn, opened up on his goggles celebration revealing that it is down to his nephew Jack who has to wear them playing football.
The 29-year-old, who attended St Columba's High School in Clydebank, wanted to try and support his nephew by pretending to wear them whenever he scored to help him not feel out of place on the park.McGinn said that he also wants to help inspire other children who wear goggles on the football pitch as he spoke at Aston Villa's press conference."So, I decided it would maybe give him a bit of support to put the goggles on when I score.
"And I'm sure it'll hopefully inspire . A lot of children and a lot of people I played with when I was younger had to wear the goggles and when you're younger it's difficult. "You feel socially kind of out of it but it's just a wee thing, nod to Jack, and now it's kind of stuck.Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
