Scotland supporters kitting out to watch their country play at Euro 2024 have been left stunned after finding the names of England players on the back of their new strips.
The knock-off Scotland tops, that resemble the official kit produced by Adidas, were reportedly purchased online from a website in China for cut-price fee of £15 compared to the £75 required to buy the real version. But Tartan Army fans who bought the kits were in for a shock after finding namesets of Three Lions stars Mason Mount and Jude Bellingham on the back of the strips.
Taking to X user Scotland’s Coefficient posted a picture of the fake kits on Wednesday along with the following caption: “Mate just sent me these pictures – the dangers of buying fake tops. Apparently several people have been getting a very English surprise when they open their £15 parcel from China.”
Steve Clarke's side are appearing in the European Championships for the second time in three years, after taking part in the delayed EURO 2020 finals in the summer of 2021. However, Scotland will be looking to make history by becoming the first team in the country's history to progress from the group stages of a major tournament.
The Scots kick off the tournament against hosts Germany on Friday June 14, before taking on Switzerland on June 19 and Hungary on June 23 in their other two fixtures in Group A. Before they jet off to the finals, Clarke's men also have two pre-tournament friendlies against Gibraltar and Finland to allow the Scotland boss to make a final decision on the players that will be on the plane to Germany.
