A study has suggested that we should all eat more wild fish, which is commonly fed to farmed salmon.Wild fish, such as mackerel, anchovies, and herring, are used to feed farmed salmon. These fish contain nutrients highly beneficial to human health, including calcium, omega-3, and B12.

They did, however, find increased levels of selenium and zinc in the salmon.The nutrients included in these wild-feed fish help prevent conditions such as cardiovascular disease and stroke.'What we're seeing is that most species of wild fish used as feed have a similar or greater density and range of micronutrients than farmed salmon fillets,' the lead author of the study, David Willer of the Zoology Department at the University of Cambridge, said in a summary of the findings.
