Police say a 34\u002Dyear\u002Dold man crashed a stolen car, then threatened several drivers at knifepoint while trying to steal another.

The 34-year-old is charged with robbery, two counts of attempted robbery, dangerous driving, assault with a weapon and possession of methamphetamine, among other charges, according to a police media release issued Tuesday. As more officers were making their way to that scene, calls started coming in about someone driving erratically on College Drive, followed by reports of a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle hitting several parked cars near the intersection of 20th Street East and Second Avenue South; the suspect fled on foot after the crash.Article content
From there, he went to a parking lot on First Avenue South and tried unsuccessfully to steal a woman’s vehicle, then made another unsuccessful attempt to steal a different woman’s vehicle at a parking lot on Idylwyld Drive, police said. He is then alleged to have threatened a man in the area before being spotted putting a large knife in a storm drain. He was arrested without further incident. Police reported Tuesday that they also recovered the knife.
