While the hammer blows alone did not kill him, the cuts to his scalp contributed to his death, court heard. An autopsy concluded he died from blood loss caused by blunt force trauma, with cirrhosis and cardiovascular disease as contributing factors. “It should be human nature to help anybody who needs help.
