The cause of Kahpoonapit’s death has not been confirmed and police are working to put together a timeline of his activities in the days before he was reported missing, RCMP said. Kahpoonapit had been reported missing to Pierceland RCMP on Dec. 13, 2022, and had last been seen on Big Island Cree Territory on Dec. 11, 2022.
