Sarah Hyland shared a paparazzi photo she hated of herself in order to promote body positivity and inspire others with invisible illnesses.
"To my fellow #invisibleillness warriors. It’s ok to be insecure about your body. Just remember to check in with yourself at least once a day and say thank you. Our bodies have endured unfathomable feats that our minds barely have time to comprehend what has actually happened. With inflammation, excess water gain, and medications, my skin has a hard time bouncing back. I saw this picture and HATED it but quickly readjusted my attitude and decided to celebrate it.
People in the comments praised Sarah for being so raw and honest and even shared some of their own personal stories. "♥️♥️♥️ With all of my excess fluid and preprednisone side effects I would’ve loved to see a picture of myself like this. You are rocking your invisible illness!" one person wrote."🙌 Same! I was on Peritoneal Dialysis for a year and that 100% stretched out my tummy area. 3 years years later and I’m still applying Shea butter to tighten up the skin... it’s okay though. It’s just another battle scar 😉," wrote another.
Celebrities including Brittany Snow, Angela Kinsey and Lily Collins all sent Sarah messages of support, too. Sarah's currently living her best life.
