SAPD officer stabbed in the neck while breaking up an argument; a suspect is in custody
The officer responded to the 4000 block of Medical Drive at around 4:30 p.m. Thursday to investigate a report that Perry had assaulted a woman. According to police, the officer attempted to intervene when Perry and the woman began to argue.
As the officer tried to stop the argument, Perry pulled out a large lock blade pocket knife and stabbed the officer in the neck, police said. Despite his injuries, the officer was able to subdue and restrain Perry until other officers arrived.
