SAN JOSE – A driver hit and killed a pedestrian Wednesday night near the Plant Shopping Center in San Jose, which has now surpassed its modern record for roadway deaths.
It also increases the number pedestrian deaths for the year to 31, which also marks a modern record. Earlier this fall, the city surpassed its previous pedestrian death record of 28 set in 2019.
